Job, Kids, Husband, and Energy to Spare
When I joined Base 10, I had just given birth to my second child. Although I hadn’t worked out in over five years, I knew I needed a different approach to working out in order to gain the fitness to keep up with my job, my house, and two small kids. Truth be told, I was really intimidated for the first few months. But I also started to see results within a month, and that was enough to keep me coming back each week.
Fast forward eight months, and I have better conditioning than I have had in over 15 years, and am without a doubt the strongest I’ve ever been. Yet the best part – after a day of running around with my kids, I still have the stamina and the strength to carry both kids upstairs, at the same time, to put them to bed…and squat down to pick up a fallen pacifier on our way up!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE GUILTY PLEASURE?
Gossip magazines! I am a career researcher and academic, so gossip magazines require no brain power to consume and are about as anti-intellectual as you can get. I can sit down and devour a gossip magazine in about 30 minutes. I also love the reality TV shows about tattoos – Ink Master, Tattoo Nightmares. I find them fascinating! Oh, and ice cream.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF WORKOUT?
I love anything where my feet leave the ground…handstand push-ups, pull ups, box jumps, you name it!
WHAT MUSIC DAY PUMPS YOU UP THE MOST IN THE GYM?
Hmmm…I am not wild about the designated music genres, BUT I do like Dillon’s choices, usually Blink 182 radio I think. It’s more my generation, which I like. :)
