Getting Her Body Back After Baby

I had never been an athletic person- never even played a sport growing up. So I was very intimidated to walk into a gym with what I thought would be a lot of very in-shape individuals. But I was surprised to find that there were many people there like me– people just starting out in whatever shape they were in now and striving for that better fitness level. Now I can do strict pull-ups, bar muscle-ups and deadlift almost twice my bodyweight. And I actually look forward to coming to the gym- it’s like coming to hang out with my friends each day.

 

When I got pregnant last year, I wanted to keep active, so Brandon & Megan helped me scale the workouts to my comfort level. Sticking with their workouts throughout my pregnancy helped me so much when it came to the delivery & the recovery after labor. Now after the baby, I am down to my pre-pregnancy weight after only 6 months!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE GUILTY PLEASURE?

I would say geeky television shows. I love watching Doctor Who, Supernatural, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Firefly. They make me insanely happy. Oh, and Starbucks coffees….

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF WORKOUT?

My favorite workout would start out with a weightlifting complex, then it would include an AMRAP of body weight movements. Just as long as it didn’t include any running!

WHAT MUSIC DAY PUMPS YOU UP THE MOST IN THE GYM?

Definitely Testosterone Tuesday. I need to hear loud, hard and aggressive music-Tool, Pantera, or Metallica.
